Do You Roast?

I'm not talking about temperatures or coffee but pumpkin seeds.  We had a huge Fall festival yesterday at our church and many came to carve pumpkins and stayed for the chili cook-off. During the pumpkin carving  I put out a large bowl to collect seeds and nobody wanted to take any seeds home!  My mom always roasted our seeds and we loved to crunch our way throught them.  The bowl was pretty big so  now I have many, many seeds to roast so I thought it would be a good time to do some experimenting.  I found this site, Pumpkin Patches and More, which gives several different recipes.  I will sort through a few more sites tonight.  Do you roast your pumpkin seeds?  What's your recipe?

I have never roasted pumpkin seeds but would really like to! My family will eat nuts, seeds, fruits etc. if I prepare them. I would love for them to have something more nutritious to snack on!

We used to roast them every year but I haven't in a long time. We did experiment with various popcorn-type seasonings but mostly just toasted them plain on a lightly-oiled cooking sheet in the oven. Then they sat in a big bowl in the kitchen and we would grab a scoop-full every time we walked by! Thanks for the memories.

Oh I LOVE roasted pumpkin seeds! We are carving our pumpkins this week and I want to do them now just for the seeds!! I didn't get any last year because I was studying in France, so I'm overly excited I think, lol.

We usually put them on a pan with a bit of butter and sprinkle on salt and roast them in the oven like that. I love them straight out of the oven!

My mom always roasted them but I don't think I've ever done it myself. Perhaps this is the year to try ... though knowing my family, I think I'd be the only one to try them. My Little One can't get over the "gore" of the pumpkin!
